La física detrás
Potential difference plays the role of pressure difference, current the role of volumetric flow, and resistance the role of pipe constriction, giving Ohm's law V = IR. The analogy correctly predicts that current is the same all the way round a series loop — water is not used up by a narrow pipe, and charge is not used up by a resistor.
