Parallel Connections: Wires and Nodes – Electricidad y magnetismo

Explore eight drawings of parallel resistors: Diamond, Diagonal, Folded, Fan, Ladder, Triangle, Twin rails and Stepped. Gather every starting end at a single node a and every finishing end at a single node b while keeping each branch connected to the same two nodes.

La física detrás

Every point joined by an uninterrupted ideal wire belongs to the same electrical node. Resistors are in parallel when each one connects between the same two nodes, a and b. Their positions, orientations and the lengths of the drawn wires do not determine the connection. Each parallel branch therefore has the same potential difference between its ends. The wires in this simulation have zero resistance. Wire crossings connect only where a junction dot is shown.
