Interferenz zweier Quellen
Two sources vibrating in step produce a fixed pattern of reinforcement and cancellation spreading out across the surface. This simulation draws that two-dimensional pattern and lets you move the sources apart to see the fringes respond.
So benutzt du diese Simulation
- Move the two sources closer together or further apart
- Change the wavelength and amplitude
- Show the wavefronts to trace the path difference
Worauf du achten solltest
- Lines of cancellation radiate outwards between the bright fringes
- Wider source separation produces more, narrower fringes
- The central line midway between the sources is always constructive
Die Physik dahinter
Where the path difference from the two sources is a whole number of wavelengths the waves arrive in phase and reinforce; where it is an odd number of half wavelengths they cancel. The result is a set of hyperbolic fringes fanning out from the sources. Increasing the source separation packs the fringes closer together.
