- Amplitude changes the height without touching the period
- Raising the frequency squeezes more cycles into the same width
- A cosine is just a sine shifted by a quarter of a period
La physique derrière
For y = A·sin(Bx + C), the amplitude A stretches the curve vertically, B compresses it horizontally so the period becomes 2π/B, and C shifts it sideways by −C/B. Amplitude and period are independent, which is why changing one leaves the other untouched.
