Équation de la droite
Slope-intercept form packs everything about a line into two numbers. This simulation links the equation to the drawn line, so changing m or c on one side moves the line on the other immediately.
Comment utiliser cette simulation
- Adjust the gradient m and intercept c
- Drag two points and read off the resulting equation
- Plot several lines at once to compare
Ce qu’il faut observer
- Changing c slides the line up and down without tilting it
- Changing m pivots the line about its y-intercept
- Lines with equal gradients never meet
La physique derrière
The equation y = mx + c describes a straight line with gradient m and y-intercept c. The gradient sets the tilt and the intercept sets where the line crosses the vertical axis. Any two distinct points determine both: m is the difference in y over the difference in x, and c follows by substitution.
